POSITION OVERVIEW

 

You will form an integral part of the Group CIO’s leadership team. You will closely partner with our global business leaders, truly understanding the needs and strategic drivers, directions, and objectives of the business, translate this into an Information Systems (IS) strategy that encompasses and brings together people, process, and technology elements, and then execute and operate this IS strategy, to enable the businesses to achieve their goals and for the Group to achieve its vision, maximum success and returns.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  

  • As Ameropa Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for the Information, Platform, Data, Technology architecture and for the urbanization of our current and future IT systems. As such, you will develop principles, guidelines and rules used to direct the acquisition, building, modification, and interfacing of the IT resources throughout the enterprise.
  • As a member of the IT leadership Team, you will be a key player in the creation of the IT Strategy, and you need to be part of the architecture governance of our main initiatives during the whole project lifecycle.
  • In this role you are also the gatekeeper of the software development methodologies in the company. You are a key contributor in the preparation of the enterprise disaster recovery plan. You must be in constant technology watch to research new/emerging technologies and best practices in the industry that could benefit the company.
  • You will define and establish Ameropa’s architecture, starting from an initial conceptual vision and evolving into a more concrete software architecture specification. You make high-level design choices, dictate the technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. You will have to review technical specifications, work effectively with technical and function resources, make recommendations around the nature of the solution, specify technical characteristics, make converge all requirements into one/several platforms/solutions.
  • When specifications are set and systems defined, you will also have to ensure the other teams deliver, ensure good collaboration with external vendors if applicable, participate in the support building, ensure flows are properly documented and ensure all systems are maintained up to date. For this you will have to review changes, enhancement requests that may affect the entire solution and work closely with internal/external developers.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Education in IT/IS or related discipline, with proven experience as Global Enterprise Architect or similar senior role
  • Excellent knowledge of a broad range of information systems with a background in designing/developing, strategy, systems architecture and managing implementation
  • Deep expertise of CTRM and SAP software and solutions in the Agri-commodity industry, and especially of the cross-domain architecture.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills, with the capacity to effectively lead multiple, complex IT projects
  • Outstanding communication, relationship building and interpersonal abilities. Non-IT centric communication
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional languages would be a plus (French/German)
  • Ability to analyse business requirements and transform them into IS solutions with pragmatic actions and priorities
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging trading environments; experience in the transformation/evolution of a dynamically growing businesses
  • Able to communicate and present in a clear and concise manner (orally and in writing), influencing others positively
  • Down-to-earth character, solution-driven, goal-oriented, and assertive with a diplomatic flair
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with a business mindset, hands-on approach and a positive “can do” attitude
  • Capable of independently and constructively challenging and sparring with business leaders at all levels, up to and including Group CEO, Chairman & members of the Group’s Holding Board
  • Experience of, interest and ability to work collaboratively in an international setting with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, strong awareness of cultural differences
  • Regular travel between these Ameropa offices with international travel required (up to 50%)
