Ameropa Romania cooperates with the New Europe College in Bukarest

(June 12, 2020)

Following the example of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, Ameropa has signed an agreement with the New Europe College (NEC) in Bukarest and will finance one yearly research project under its International Fellowship Program for the next three years.

The NEC aims at enabling independent advanced studies in the humanities and social sciences and at promoting contacts between Romanian scholars and their peers abroad. Within this framework, the Ameropa fellowship is more particularly dedicated to research topics investigating the conditions and prerequisites for democratic stability and economic prosperity.

Romanian economist Andreea-Maria Muraru has now been chosen by the selection panel as the first Ameropa fellow. She will investigate the societal impact which the massive flow of remittances from emigrants had in Transylvania and Moldova in the last 15 years.
