Ameropa Strengthens Grains and Oilseeds Leadership with Appointment of Reinier van Hanswijck as Chief Trader
Ameropa is pleased to announce the appointment of Reinier van Hanswijck as Chief Trader for its Grains and Oilseeds Division, effective 1 June 2026.
The appointment marks an important step in the continued development of Ameropa’s global grains and oilseeds business and reflects Ameropa’s commitment to strengthening its commercial leadership as it expands its presence across key international markets.
In his role, Reinier will lead the division’s trading activities and contribute to the strategic growth of the business, working closely with the commercial and operational teams across Ameropa’s global network.
Reinier brings more than two decades of international experience in agricultural commodity trading, marketing, and business development. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and trading positions with some of the industry’s leading companies, including Bunge, Viterra, and Glencore.
He has extensive experience across grains, oilseeds, and related agricultural commodities, having developed and managed trading businesses throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His track record includes building commercial platforms in new markets, leading multinational teams, and managing large-scale trading programs in complex and rapidly evolving market environments.
Most recently, Reinier served as Director Trading MEA for Wheat and Barley at Bunge, where he was responsible for sales and business development activities across the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years with Viterra and Glencore in a range of senior commercial and trading roles. During his career, he successfully established and expanded business operations in several key markets, including Egypt, South Africa, Morocco, and Turkey, while overseeing significant grain and oilseed trading activities throughout the region.
