Chimpex Expands Rail Capacity with New Investment
In May 2026, Chimpex opened a new second rail discharging pit. The investment strengthens the terminal’s capabilities and supports more efficient grain handling operations, representing another step in the company’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance operational performance.
The new facility can unload up to 550 tons per hour from two rail wagons at the same time, helping improve the movement of grain through the terminal and supporting a smoother logistics process. By increasing unloading capacity, the new rail pit will help optimize the flow of materials and strengthen the connection between rail transport and terminal operations.
As grain volumes and market demands continue to evolve, investments in infrastructure play an important role in maintaining efficient and reliable operations. Strengthening handling capabilities not only supports day-to-day activities but also creates greater flexibility to respond to future business needs and opportunities.
The project was completed using advanced technology from Bühler AG and successfully delivered despite construction challenges during the process. The completion of the project reflects the strong collaboration and dedication of the teams involved, who worked to deliver a complex investment while maintaining operational continuity.
The new rail discharging facility reflects an ongoing focus on modernizing infrastructure and building stronger capabilities to support the business in the years ahead. As operations continue to grow and evolve, investments such as this help create a stronger foundation for long-term development and future success.
