Kick-off of the European Food and Feed Sourcing Standard Initiative
The Steering Committee of the European Food and Feed Sourcing Standard initiative met in Utrecht for its kick-off meeting. The initiative was launched by Donau Soja, Fenaco, ADM Straubing, Ameropa, Agrofirm and BFA to respond to the growing need for a unified, credible and high standard for feed and food in Europe. The initiative is based on three pillars: European origin, non GMO production, and high sustainability standards. It aims at integrating existing legislation and standards in each of the three pillars rather than multiplying them. The initiative will be presented in more detail during the 59th European Commodity Exchange in Vienna in October of this year.
