Since 2004 the Foundation is supporting the Ausbildungscenter Brasil, a vocational training school in Rio das Ostras, a three hours’ drive from Rio. Roberto Kern, a Swiss expatriate and retired welder, opened a school for welders, mechanics and locksmiths. He built all the necessary buildings by himself: first a house for his Brazilian wife and himself, then a hall for welders, then one for the mechanics, then a house with a cloakroom and amenities, as well as an office and a big teaching room. The school is equipped with all the latest technical equipment. Everything is solid, first quality, tidy, the best of traditional Swiss standards.

Every year approximately 60 capable young men and women pass the vocational training which is offered pro bono. Practically all graduates find a job immediately after completion of the training.
